Guisa Modular
Bus Shelter System

Bus wait is a difficult daily situation for everyone who lives in São Paulo. Due to the traffic jam and the bad bus schedule, a bus can arrive with an hour of delay. The complex road network and the lack of ready information in urban furniture complicates user’s sense of location. Furthermore, existing bus shelters do not properly protect users from the weather, making
the wait even worse.

The goal in this project was to create a family of modular bus shelters that could provide services and features to improve the wait and also enable smarter construction. The developed simple modular shape
of Guisa enables all shelter configurations needed for each urban situation while allowing local assembly and easy manufacture. Guisa also provides clear information and schedule visualization in real time.
